You should ship your carrier or return it in hand within two days of return date. It should reach us in maximum 5 days. Barring unforeseen circumstances, past 5 days late fees of INR 100/ day will be charged and deducted from the deposit. If we do not hear from you within 15 days of the sling return date, we will consider the carrier lost and keep your full deposit.

Condition of the Sling/Carrier

We check all slings and carriers before we loan them out, to ensure that they are in good condition. If you are collecting in person, you may also check the condition of the carrier prior to the start of the loan. When you agree to a sling hire, you are agreeing that the sling/carrier is in good condition with no damages.

If you've received a damaged piece by courier, you should report these to Babywearing Stuff in writing within 24 hours of receiving the carrier. In those cases, we will refund the hire fee as well as deposit in full on immediate return of the carrier. We will be unable to refund the shipment charges.

As a borrower, it is your responsibility to check the carrier before every use. Check all buckles, hems and seams, ensuring there are no tears, breaks, cracks or holes. If you find any damage, please stop using the carrier immediately and contact us.

Damaged or Lost Carriers

We loan out all carriers in good and undamaged condition. If a carrier becomes damaged during your loan/usage period, please contact us immediately and stop using the sling for safety reasons. You will be required to pay the full replacement cost of any lost or damaged carriers, accessories or instructions.

Safety while Using Carriers

We provide instructions for safe use of all carriers, usually by email or as an online link. If they are not supplied, please ask for a copy of the manufacturer's instructions.

All our carriers are safe when properly used. Misuse can cause injury to yourself or your child. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are using the carrier correctly and that your baby is safe at all times. Babywearing Stuff not responsible for any accident that results in injury or death while the sling is in your care.

If you are new to babywearing, we recommend familiarising yourself with the relevant instructions, then practice using the carrier with a doll, teddy, or cushion so that you get used to the tying, fastening and adjusting methods. Always ensure that you seat your child correctly in the carrier. Check any knots regularly as children move around, and straps and wrap passes can move or become loosened.

If you feel any pain while carrying your child, change the carrying position or remove the carrier. If you are unsure about anything you read in the instructions, please ask us.

Taking care of your rented Carrier

Please look after your rented carriers carefully. Please do not smoke while wearing or holding the carrier. Please avoid using the sling in smoky environments, including your home. Please keep the sling away from pets, as the next family to use it may have a significant allergy. Food marks are normal when carrying children, but please keep the sling away from anything that may cause more permanent stains (oil, paint, pens, hair or make up products, nail varnish etc), or anything that might damage it (e.g. scissors, Velcro, keys in your bag, fire). You will pay the full replacement cost for any sling that has been damaged beyond normal wear and tear. Your carrier may come with suck pads (to protect the straps from damage from children chewing on the straps) and/or carrier bag. Please do not lose the suck pads, carrier bag or the chest strap.

Cleaning

Do not wash the sling. Spot cleaning is the safest if you have any accidents. You can wash the suck pads. If you need to clean your carrier, please contact us first. Many slings have particular advice to ensure they do not lose their shape and structure.

If you DO clean your carrier (after taking advice or referring to the instructions if you have them), please:

  • Use mild baby friendly detergent
  • No color brighteners or softeners
  • NO fabric conditioner (they make the fabric fibres and buckles slippy).
  • NO tumble drying
  • Many manufacturers recommend closing all buckles and washing carriers inside old pillowcases.
